Introduction
Wokpa is proud to present Battle of the Podcasts 2024, a 14-day competition designed to empower aspiring and existing podcasters. This youth empowerment program aims to educate participants on starting their podcast journey using Wokpa while providing them with a platform to showcase their talent and creativity. This two-week intensive program will provide participants with comprehensive training, practical experience, and opportunities to showcase their podcasting talents.

Program Objectives
To educate participants on the fundamentals of podcasting and the use of Wokpa as a podcasting platform.
To equip participants with the necessary skills in content creation, production, and distribution.
To provide participants (New Podcasters) with hands-on experience in creating and promoting podcast content.
To empower participants to create high-quality podcast content and engage with their audience effectively.
To provide participants with opportunities for networking, learning, and professional growth in the podcasting industry.
To recognize and reward outstanding podcasters with cash prizes, merchandise, and subscriptions.
Program Overview
Week 1: Training and Preparation
Day 1-3: Introduction to Podcasting: Overview of podcasting, understanding audience demographics, selecting podcast topics.
Day 4-5: Wokpa Platform Training: Hands-on training on using Wokpa for podcast creation, editing, and distribution.
Day 6-7: Content Creation Workshop: Crafting compelling narratives, scriptwriting, and sound design.
Week 2: Battle of the Podcasts Competition
Day 8-13: Content Creation Challenge: Participants create and publish podcast episodes using Wokpa. The podcaster with the highest engagements (likes, subscriptions, listens) wins cash prizes.
First Position – N10,000 Cash Prize
Second and Third Positions – N5,000 Cash Prize (N10,000)
Fourth to Tenth Positions – N2,000 Cash Prize (N14,000)
Day 14: Grand Finale: All contesting podcasters have their podcast projects during this competition reviewed by a panel of judges and audience members. The grand prize winner receives N100,000 (N50,000 Cash Prize and N50,000 1-year subscription).

Evaluation and Feedback
Throughout the competition, participants will receive feedback and guidance from instructors, mentors, and industry professionals. An evaluation mechanism will be in place to assess the effectiveness of the program and gather feedback for future improvements.

Participation Terms and Conditions – Battle of the Podcasts 2024
1. Eligibility: Participants must be podcasters who have been in the industry for 0 to 6 months from the start date of the competition.
2. Wokpa Subscription: All participants must maintain an active subscription on the Wokpa platform for the duration of the competition. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
3. Content Creation: Participants are required to create and publish podcast episodes using the Wokpa platform during the designated competition period.
4. Original Content: All content submitted by participants must be original and created solely by the participant. Plagiarism or unauthorized use of copyrighted material is strictly prohibited.
5. Engagement Metrics: The winner of the competition will be determined based on engagement metrics such as likes, subscriptions, and listens generated by their podcast episodes on the Wokpa platform.
6. Liability: Wokpa and its affiliates are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury incurred by participants during the competition. Participants are responsible for ensuring the legality and compliance of their content with relevant laws and regulations.
7. Intellectual Property: By participating in the competition, participants grant Wokpa the right to use, reproduce, and distribute their podcast episodes for promotional and marketing purposes related to the competition.
8. Disqualification: Wokpa reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to be in violation of these terms and conditions or engaging in fraudulent or unethical behavior.
9. Modification of Terms: Wokpa reserves the right to modify or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Participants are encouraged to review the terms periodically for updates.
10. Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from the competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
